We are pleased to announce that the winner of our ABC Mouse giveaway is Lynn M. Congratulations, Lynn!

Ok, Imagine you are sitting down watching a kid's channel with your little one, and a commercial comes on for ABCMouse.com. Do you ever wonder if that would be good for your kid?? I know I did, I thought that it would be great for my daughter. So, I got a membership for ABC Mouse to try and review. So far, my Brie loves it. She gets into it. I only have one little problem. Find out what it is in my review below!!

We only have one kid in our household and we like the curriculum, but my daughter is not used to using a mouse. If it was with a touch screen, or on the tablet or something my daughter would have an easier, fun time with it. My daughter is three, so she's not used to using the mouse on a computer, but she really likes the games.  She loves to see the animals, the letters,  the colors, and the other things that you can do on the site. I personally love that you can set the curriculum to where you want it to be, and I love the toddler time. I don't mind sitting down with her at the computer to let her play, I just wish they had the site as an app for a tablet or an iPad. Here is an overview of the website, and some of the main areas.

This is the homepage, from here your child will be able to get to the classroom, learning path and have the ability to change their avatar, aquarium, room and hamster cage.

Here is the about me section, this area will have your child's stats along with a simple navigation to other sections.  It shows the amount of tickets they have earned and will give them the option to go shopping with the tickets.

Here is the classroom area.  Your child is able to explore different activities and new areas of the site.  The teacher will guide them to their learning path and continue on in their lessons.

Some other areas include the hamster cage, aquarium and child's room. Your child can place the prizes that are won while completing the learning path here in these areas.  They can also use the tickets earned during different learning activities to purchase different things for each area.

In the hamster cage they can set up a maze of tunnels, they are able to purchase more hamsters and tunnels with their tickets.

In the aquarium they are able to feed the fish and do fish activities.  They can also purchase more fish.

This is the bedroom, your child can personalize it with furniture and other things they have won.

This map shows the areas available to go to. Your child can choose where they would like to go next.

This is the farm, here they learn about the farm and its animals through games and books.  Each animal has the animal sounds and moves around their areas.

The zoo is awesome, this is my daughters favorite area. You can click on the different animals and get different activities that relate to the animal including books, puzzles, coloring and songs. Like the farm, each animal has the animal sounds and moves around their areas.

(I forgot to get screen shots of a few sections)
The toddler section is an area that is accessible from the map. It has stories, songs, puzzles, games and art for the younger children that can’t navigate as easily through the site.

The Parent Section is an area that allows us parents to put together our own curriculum.  I love this because I could pick activities that relate to what I want her to work on.

Ultimately, I really love ABCMouse.com, I think it is a great resource for homeschoolers and even those with younger kids to help learn before school. I would love it even more if it was on a tablet, as my Brie is great at using the tablet and not so much on the mouse with a computer. She does use it on my touch screen laptop and she is really good at that. I think that they would have more people using the tablet so they can use it on the go also...
